For Your Inspiration 36

Hello!

Well, this is the last For Your Inspiration challenge for this year. The team are taking a little holiday and we'll be back next year. Please join in on this challenge and help us end this year grandly. :-) The inspiration photograph for challenge #36 is beautiful, as always.
For me, I chose the colours and shapes as my inspiration. I loved the purple and yellow of the sunrise/sunset, and the grey wall is just delicious!

I turned to a sketch to build my card, and the sketch at Retro Sketches #24 was perfect, and turned the picture upside down - the sunrise on the bottom with the grey leading up from there.
My card follows the sketch really closely.
I really like how this turned out. The stamps are PTI Embellishments (who knew this set could be so beautifully CAS? I surprised myself). The colours are PTI basic white card, Memento Grey Flannel, SU! Pale Plum and Barely Banana. The Pale Plum card is textured. The rhinestones are SU! and are the perfect finishing touch (if I do say so myself, LOL!).

The FYI Design Team have done some beautiful work again. Please do take some time to go and visit them and leave some love.

Thanks for coming to visit me, and I hope to see you over at FYI with your project for the challenge very soon!

Happy Birthday, Cassandra!

Hello!

Today is my friend Cassandra's birthday. When making cards for Cassie, I suffer major performance anxiety - her cards are always so beautiful and elegant! But this time, I think I've created the perfect card for her. It's clean and elegant and it has a good stack of bling. :-)

Happy Birthday, Cassandra!
I used PTI Lovely Layers and Pretty Peonies (sentiment). The colours are SU! Night of Navy, Pool Party, and Bashful Blue. Rhinestones are SU!

Cassandra is an early riser, so I am betting she'll see this post before she sees the card in person. Cassie, it looks better in real life! ;-)  Have a wonderful birthday!

LIM#79 in green and blue

Hello!

A quick one-layer card for Less Is More challenge #79 where the theme this week is a colour theme - green and blue.  It's been a while since I played at Less Is More. I need to become a full-time crafter so that I don't keep missing challenges! :-)

I still had PTI Little Hot Rod sitting on my desk, and I couldn't resist making another card. :-) Colours are SU! Night of Navy and Garden Green. The middle vehicle has rhinestone headlights.

You wouldn't believe how many cards I have to make this week-end. I also have to make birthday invitations for my little girl's 5th birthday. Time is rapidly running out!

Up, up and away with CAS-ual Fridays!

Hello!

I have a few little boy birthdays coming up, and so I recently bought Papertrey Ink Little Hot Rod. Such a cute set of stamps! I may use it on the big boys in my life also. :-)

This little card I will probably give to my little nephew.
I used (stamps and dies) PTI Little Hot Rod and Heart-2-Heart #6. Colours are SU! Early Espresso, Bashful Blue, and Daffodil Delight. Card base is PTI Basic White.

I made this for CAS-ual Fridays #64, which asks us to make a card using things you'd find in the sky.

Now, I have something to ask. I have just found that Stampin' Up! have sold out of their (retiring colour) Poppy Parade re-inker. Does anyone have a Poppy Parade re-inker they would like to sell me?  Or, is there anyone outside of Australia who still have this colour available and can get it for me? In this case, there are three of us looking for this colour re-inker! :-)

Thanks for dropping by!

Happy 80th birthday!

Hello!

CASE Study this week is celebrating their 2nd anniversary. We get to enter a card in our "signature style". Mmmm, I think this card uses my signature style. I usually use more white, but imagine the pale plum is white, and I think it is "me".

This week it is my aunty's 80th birthday. That's quite a milestone. We will be celebrating next week-end. She's grumbling about how big the party is getting, but I think she is in her element - all this attention from her very large, extended family!

I spent a lot of time with my aunty while I was growing up. She was living on a pineapple farm with her husband (my uncle) and her four boys. I learned early how to play rough and tumble with my big boy cousins! :-) Some of my favourite memories involve sitting in the kitchen, having cups of tea, sitting on the wood box in front of the wood-fired stove. They've retired now and moved into town, but I hold fond memories of that farm.

This is the card I came up with. My aunty likes purple, so that set the colour-scheme. The card is 4" x 6", a little different in dimension to my usual 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.
I used PTI Lovely Layers, Think Big Favorites #13. Colours are SU! Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Certainly Celery, Old Olive. The dies were PTI Lovely Layers, Block Alpha Numbers, and Spellbinders Nestabilities (circles).

I used the sketch from My Favorite Things.
And while I am talking purple. I took this photo in my garden this week. It is a purple blue-centred daisy. My garden thinks that spring has arrived, everything is starting to flower!

Thanks for coming to visit!

One Layer Wednesday #99

Hello!

It's been a while since I've played along with One Layer Wednesday. I got a bit confused there for a while and kept missing it! This week, I couldn't resist. Not only is it challenge number #99 (just one more before #100, which I like), but we get to choose our inspiration from Susan's Pinterest Pure Inspiration Board.

This is my card.
I used PTI Botanical Silhouettes. I masked the card front and sponged SU! Bashful Blue and Pool Party. Then I stamped the stems in Certainly Celery, white embossed the flowers, and finished with the sentiment.

This was my inspiration.
As soon as I saw it, I knew what I wanted to create.

I hope you like it, I do!

Thanks for dropping by!

For Your Inspiration #35

Hello!

It's time for another For Your Inspiration challenge! We're up to Challenge #35, and this is the beautiful inspiration photo.
Blue, aqua, green, grey, gold, cathedral, bridge, river, spires, arches... oh the inspiration!

For me, I took the colours, and the shapes I used reminded me of church windows.
I created a one-layer sympathy card using PTI Guidelines II and Botanical Silhouettes. Colours are SU! Crumb Cake, Pool Party, and Certainly Celery.

The other ladies on the DT have come up with some lovely cards, as always. Why don't you pay them a visit?
